This HAE Canada Inc. Website Privacy Policy (this Privacy Policy) governs your access to, and your use of, the website located at haecanada.org (the “Site”). HAE Canada Inc. (“HAE Canada”) owns, operates or contracts with third parties to provide the services that are available on and through the Site (the “Services”).

In this Privacy Policy, “Personal Information” means information about an identifiable individual, but does not include the name, title or business address or telephone number of an employee of an organization. “We” means (and “us”, “our”, and “ours” refer to) HAE Canada. “You” means (and “your” refers to) the user of the Site.

5. What Personal Information do we Collect, and how do we Collect it?
In the course of operating the Services, we have collected and will collect Personal Information from you, including:
information you actively submit to us, directly or indirectly, such as through your membership application (including your name, email address, mailing address and phone number), as well as your comments and other content you may provide on our forum; and information we may passively and automatically collect from you, such as the information about website visitors’ traffic patterns discussed above.

  • to create a membership list, which may be used to send you: newsletters; educational information; announcements of events, surveys, information on clinical trials, and fundraising and volunteer appeals to advocate for improved patient care, on your behalf;

We will keep your Personal Information for as long as is necessary for us to fulfill the Identified Purposes. Generally speaking, that means we will destroy or anonymize your Personal Information when your account with us is no longer active. Despite this, in limited circumstances, we may be required by law to keep your Personal Information for a longer period of time.

You may withdraw your consent for us to manage your Personal Information in a particular way, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
