From November 7 – 9, two Board members, Michelle Cooper (President) and Kim Speiss (Reg Director, Central), along with staff, Daphne Dumbrille, were fortunate to attend the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (CSACI) Annual Scientific Meeting in Banff, Alberta.
We were thrilled there were 11 posters displaying scientific research on HAE, and Dr. Stephen Betschel presented on “HAE: Expanding the Diagnostic and Management Landscape”. Thank you to the dedicated HAE researchers across Canada who do very important work for HAE patients in Canada.
It was wonderful to connect with the many amazing physicians from across Canada who provide fantastic care to patients in Canada with HAE. Some of our sponsors were also in attendance, and we were fortunate to connect with them over the course of the weekend.
HAEC was proud to be present at the CAAIF Gala when it was announced that Dr. Adil Adatia won the CASP-CAAIF research grant. The Canadian Angioedema Scholarship Program (CASP) Foundation was founded as a not-for-profit by HAE Canada in 2019. The purpose of CASP is to administer donated funds for research and finding a cure for HAE, related angioedema and provide scholarships furthering education in the field of research.
