What is HAE Day?
HAE Day is an international day to raise awareness for HAE. Created and supported by HAEi (hereditary angioedema international) with the aid of many National Member Organizations it will run for the first time ever on May 16th, 2012.
HAEi hopes that “By increasing awareness of HAE and its symptoms, people who might be unknowingly living with HAE will seek help…
hae day :-) intends to:
• Support better care and an earlier and more accurate diagnosis for HAE patients
• Engage the general public and the medical community
• Raise funds for further national and international initiatives
• Strengthen the voice of patients, uniting HAE patient organizations globally.”
HAE Day in Canada
HAE Canada is a passionate supporter of HAE Day and for the 2012 date we will be encouraging all of our members to take the day to share information about HAE within their communities.
We will also be sending several executive members to the associated HAE international conference in Copenhagen to represent the Canadian patient community.
Looking to the future, HAE Canada is in the process of creating a National Walk that will occur annually on May 16th starting in 2013!
